At Camp Mater Terrae, mothers get to just be—fully present, fully at ease, hearts open to receive the joy of their children, and children, in turn, feel the peace of a mother who is truly rested.
Camp Mater Terrae: A Catholic Summer-Camp Style Retreat for Moms & Littles
Motherhood Rooted in Faith and Nourished in Nature
Welcome to Camp Mater Terrae, a summer camp-style retreat for moms and their little ones—a place where faith meets fresh air, and motherhood feels a little lighter.
Here, moms get to play, rest, and reconnect—not just with their kids, but with themselves. It's a chance to set down the to-do lists, breathe deeply, and be cared for in a way that restores both body and soul. From guided somatic exercises and prayer circles to quiet moments under the trees and playful pauses in the creek, we invite moms to slow down and listen to the divine whispers that often go unnoticed in the rush of daily life.
Meanwhile, kids dive into nature-filled fun, discovering the world around them through hands-on adventures, faith-building activities, and good old-fashioned outdoor play. Whether it’s crafting, storytelling, exploring the woods, or splashing in the water, they’ll have plenty to do while moms enjoy their own guided experiences.
At Camp Mater Terrae, mother-child time is woven seamlessly into each day, giving mothers and their children the space to connect, play, and grow in faith and in the simple joy of being together without the usual distractions.
Mothers and children bond through shared adventures, like wandering wooded trails, splashing in the creek, and basking under starry skies. They laugh side by side as they craft, cook, and explore, discovering new things about each other in the magic of unhurried time.
Through guided family prayer and reflection, mothers deepen their own spiritual journey while introducing their children to the sacred beauty of quiet moments—teaching them, by example, to listen for God’s voice in the rustling leaves and rippling waters.
There’s playfulness too—silly songs, storytelling circles, and barefoot races through the grass. Kids delight in nature’s wonders while moms embrace the gift of watching their children thrive, knowing they, too, are nourished.
And, perhaps most importantly, mothers get to just be—fully present, fully at ease, hearts open to receive the joy of their children, and children, in turn, feel the peace of a mother who is truly rested.
It’s not just a retreat—it’s a time to laugh, love, and remember how sweet it is to grow in faith, together.
At Camp Mater Terrae, we savor the simple things—wholesome food, laughter around a fire, the feeling of bare feet in the grass, the kind of joy that comes from being fully present. It’s a retreat where moms and children bond, breathe, and embrace the beautiful adventures of life together.
Leave behind the schedules. Step into the freedom of summer. And let the peace of Mater Terrae—Mary Mother of the Earth—hold you in her gentle, nurturing embrace.
Because motherhood isn’t just about giving. It’s also about receiving.
